HOW AND WHERE TO REGISTER
The first step is to read the contest rules to understand the terms and conditions for participation, judging, and awards. Your work must be submitted at the time of registration by filling out the online form on the page of your chosen category, where you will upload the file. You may enter up to 2 (two) categories.
WHO CAN ENTER
To enter the BELO Contest, you must (1) be experiencing or have experienced a mental health issue, (2) be a family member or close friend of someone who is experiencing or has experienced the condition, (3) be a mental health professional (psychologist, psychyatrist, therapist, caretaker, nurse, and general staff who are in daily direct contact with people who experience mental health issues), or (4) be a mental health care institution or organization that supports people in the community and their families.
The BELO Contest accepts entries from participants of all countries and all ages (depending on the category). Entries must be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese, English, or Arabic. Each category accepts specific language(s).
WHAT INFORMATION IS REQUIRED
On the online registration form, you will provide your full name, pseudonym (the name that may be published with your work), age, gender, city, country, the mental health issue you are experiencing, and institution (if applicable), contact information (yours and that of someone else who can be contacted), and the context of your work (creation).
The only information that will be published is the name you provide as your pseudonym, your age, and your country.
On the same form, you will upload the file of your work (story, music, drawing/painting, photograph, or video). In the Creative Social Media category, instead of uploading a file, you will provide the link to your social media profile.
